Health & Safety First Aid at Work
Duration: 4 consecutive Days 09:00 - 16:00 Hrs.
Recommended for: Premises and/or organisations where the ‘First Aid Risk Assessment’ has identified the need for a qualified ‘First Aider’.
Objectives: To qualify delegates to the standard of ‘Health & Safety First Aider in the Workplace’ so that they may deal effectively & efficiently with workplace accident/ emergencies & to ensure compliance with the ‘First Aid at Work Regulations 1981’.
Course Content: Training is delivered by theory, practical, case study & group activity.
Day 1
- Introduction
- Legislation
- First Aid equipment
- Action in the event of an emergency
- Patient management
- The Unconscious casualty
- Basic Life Support (B.L.S) & Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
- B.L.S / C.P.R child & infant
Day 2
- Disorders of the airway & breathing
- Spinal trauma
- Major & minor wound management
- Musco-skeletal injury
- Thermal injury
Day 3
- Neurological trauma
- Disorders of the circulatory system
- Medical emergencies
Day 4
- Recap/ revision
- Final practical assessment
Certification: Following successful examination conducted by independent verifiers delegates will be awarded ‘Health & Safety Executive First Aid in the Workplace’ certification, valid for three years.
Cost: Maximum of 12 delegates. Each delegate will receive their own ‘First Aid’ manual. £2,160 (£180 each) + VAT
